Scholarly work is organized around a simple principle: residents should have access to real infrastructure, meaningful data, and enough flexibility to pursue work that fits their interests.
Support From Idea to Dissemination
Research Support
A dedicated research team — including research coordinators and biostatisticians — supports residents through project development, data analysis, and dissemination.
A Broader Research Network
As part of a larger network of hospitals, residents can connect with collaborators across Florida and the country.
Data & Study Opportunities
Enterprise Data
Access to enterprise-wide hospitalization and emergency-department data creates opportunities to ask clinically meaningful questions at scale.
Prospective & Traditional Research
Prospective studies are actively enrolling in the department, and the program supports residents who want to develop new traditional research projects.
Resident-Driven Scholarship
Individualized Scholarly Activity
Scholarly requirements can take different forms depending on a resident's goals. Faculty work with each resident to build an individualized plan rather than forcing every learner into the same type of project.
Current Project Topics
Current work includes ultrasound-guided hip blocks, headache treatment, resident fatigue related to administrative duties, and additional resident-driven projects.
