Mentorship
Mentorship starts on Match Day and continues through graduation. Faculty take the time to understand each resident’s goals and provide individualized guidance in clinical development, academics, leadership, fellowship preparation, and life beyond residency.

Our faculty are engaged, accessible, and invested in resident education. The group includes fellowship-trained ultrasound faculty, EMS medical directors, a formally trained simulation educator, accomplished researchers, and experienced clinical leaders — all within a department where residents and faculty know one another well.

Train in a high-volume community emergency department without competing residency programs for your cases. Residents rotate across three primary clinical sites and two away rotation sites, gaining experience in community emergency medicine, pediatrics, trauma, critical care, and prehospital medicine.

Procedures belong to our residents. With no competing surgical residencies at our primary site, residents graduate with roughly twice the national average for most procedures. Most residents meet the ACGME graduation requirement for intubations by the end of intern year.

Wellness here is more than an occasional event. It means building schedules around important life events, protecting time away from the hospital, supporting one another after difficult shifts, and creating a residency where people can work hard without losing sight of the life they are working for.
